Posey HeadStart Sensors

Posey HeadStart Notification Sensors utilize a unique dual-release design that activates as the first yellow strap on the sensor is unfastened. A secondary release helps provide additional time before the patient exits the chair or bed.

  • Offers a gentle reminder to the patient to ask for assistance when ambulating
  • Designed with patient comfort in mind, allowing patients to move within the bed or chair while using the sensor
  • Patients can self-release from the sensor, serving as a restraint alternative device*
  • Compatible with all Posey alarms and single patient use

The dual-release feature enables notification an average of 5 to 7 seconds earlier than commonly used sensor pads.

CMS Guidelines Regarding Restraints*:

"Generally, if a patient can easily remove a device, the device would not be considered a restraint. In this context, 'easily remove' means that the manual method, device, material, or equipment can be removed intentionally by the patient in the same manner as it was applied by the staff, considering the patient's physical condition and ability to accomplish the objective.
