Posey^® Mitts are used to help protect patients who are prone to disrupting medical treatment or to self-harm. A mitt hinders picking and tube pulling. It is considered to be a less restrictive device that should be considered and tried before more restrictive methods are used.

Our Closed Mitts offer professional caregivers a range of features and functionality.

Posey Closed Mitt (Bead Filling)

The Closed Mitt listed in the table below is considered less restrictive than our other mitts and can be used as a diversionary device:

Posey Closed Mitt (Cloth)

The Closed Mitt listed in the table below is considered more restrictive than our other mitts:

Fiber-filled padding on both sides of the mitt
Soft cloth that is gentle on patient’s skin
Hook-and-loop fastener (press to apply, peel to release)
Strap included to help prevent the patient from removing the mitt (SKU 2809)

Model-specific features associated with one or both of the Closed Mitts listed in the next table include:

Mesh on one side of the mitt for extra breathability and a full view of the patient’s hand at all times; fiber-filled padding on the other side of the mitt
Hook-and-loop fastener (press to apply, peel to release)
Finger separators to help control/limit finger movement (a somewhat more restrictive option, this is our most popular Closed Mitt)
Strap compatibility to help prevent the patient from removing the mitt (straps either included or sold separately; SKU 2809)
